Darn it! I really despise cheap trim panel fasteners. Absolutely no excuse for them. Give me black screws or an 8mm bolt all day every day.

That panel piece can be re-used, but you are going to need to get clever with some zip ties and may need to drill a few 1/8" holes in discrete places. If you do that thoughtfully, it won't even be an eyesore nor will it squeak or rattle.

Just be careful with that drill bit and avoid crazy "punck throughs" into wiring behind.

HTH! And, no, you are not the first or the last person that has ever happened to.

oh man those clips look pretty mangled up. I did similar to the sail trim panel when changing speakers. wasn't able to reattach it. thankfully that part was just $25

I don’t think that’s a “cheap” or quality problem, that’s evidence of a ham-fisted approach to reinstalling
I’d guess that part isn’t commanding a high price from salvage yards,,, but that’s just a guess.

Yeah someone had a "bull in China shop" moment. I been there before myself. I learned.

Not necessarily brute forced, if it’s been removed constantly. My center console with those same red clips on the top edge are jacked, the plastic tabs don’t seem strong enough for repeatedly being pulled on from the red clips (which can’t seem to decide to stay in the hole or hold on to the tab during removal). I’ve pulled my center console numerous times, I take my time never breezing through an install. lucky for me my jacked up tabs don’t hold the panel up from falling.

I’d get a new panel but that’s me
