Most videos make it look hard. I just unbolted the fuse box to make a bit more wiggling possible to get the air intake manifold out. If I had more time when I did it I would have done a thermostat / water pump at the same time but needed the truck driveable that day.

HVAC controls may only work on high due to a connector under the dash. Most people swap it out for 3rd Gen parts but I’m going to just solder the wires together and cut them if I ever need to remove the interior. Carpet can be removed without doing that so very few reasons for having to do so.

If stay away from 05 and.06 years, I'm an 06 owner. I had my motor mounts crack and break off after only 70k miles on the odometer. There's a bunch of small annoying problems they quietly fixed.

If you get it, I would replace all of the cooling system hoses, have the radiator flushed out and check the water pump. The reason is to prevent it from overheating and warping the head. No one likes a head gasket leak.

Dmz overnighted me the gusset kit thankfully and I got it burned in and take care of luckily before the other side failed.

Dalandser...Thanks for the heads up on Dorman making that part...Half the price of the dealer part, on a part that is a simple metal tube. No brainer. Off to keep that part on hand for replacing when I do my next coolant flush, etc...
