sounds about right, interesting it came seemingly out of nowhere. Bike doesn't seem to suffer for it at all either, still rides like normal and pulls like normal. guess we'll see what's what

I'm really hoping it might just be some fitment gaps from the new fairings taking in some air but that might be too optimistic lol

I don't have FB but did start poking around the IBA forum a little as you saw ha. The flexibility of that ride is cool that you can structure it in different ways. I remember you mentioning her story and thinking damn, I don't know if I'll finish meanwhile someone nested two other challenges into this ride lol

Also that's a good approach trying to pick ones with meaning, I want to ride to a few of the places my parents traveled to back in the 70s on my dad's HD.

The only family member I have that rode motorcycles was my dad's uncle. He and his brother rode Indians back in the years right after the Depression. I can still remember listening to him talk about them riding the whole way to see the Pacific Ocean back in the days before an interstate highway system existed. I started riding while he was still alive but in a nursing home. I once took one of my bikes to visit him and spent some time talking about his old Indian Scout Sport that he bought around 1937 or so. I'd love to be able sit with him now and talk about some of my rides and rallies.

Visiting places your father rode to would be awesome. It would be cool to find some of his old photos maybe and see if you can recreate them.

I suppose I have a vehicle that can tow and is comfortable for long distances… just dont have room at home now!

I borrowed a Kendon trailer from a friend for this weekend’s track day:

Managed to find an OEM single seat on eBay. They aren’t made any more, so I jumped on the chance. I dig the style a lot more! Man I’m having an absolute blast on this bike. Got over 1400 miles on it now.IMG_6560.jpg

I was worried about performance when I went from 800’ to 5-8000’ with a carb. Wasabi actually ran better at altitude, after leaning her out a bit from the fuel screw.

Scrambled up to Cedro Peak[IMG] fire tower and had a long convo with the lookout, who was a commercial, corporate, and ATAC pilot for the USFS. It pays to have friends in high places.

That's badass riding that far especially considering the bike, roads (or lack thereof), and doing it all without GPS!

My dad had a few Harleys, his last one I think was a '76 Electra glide that he and my mom did some touring on. Nothing super exciting but I'd like to go just because... I know they took trips to CT, VA, FL, and GA but need to get more details from my mom. My dad died of cancer a while back, and like you said about your dad's uncle really wish I could talk to him again. He got me into riding at a young age, started on a little minibike. Also had a '70 Honda SL 350 that we rode in the trails a few times. Aside from that never got to ride together or him see any of my bikes so I think traveling to some of the same destinations would be cool. And yes need to find out if any photos exist.

These are the smallest and by far the brightest turn signals I have on ANY of my bikes, and that includes the LED OEM Yamaha ones on my super tenere

I bought the factory Asian market LED's for my CRF300. It was plug-n-play with a fuse swap.

I tried some of the Grom ones from TST and apparently didn't read the ad very well as the fronts won't work

    Thanks for the suggestions!

NRC fronts look really sleek, hadn't heard of them before so may need to find a model that looks like I can work with and search around for LED options for that bike.

How has the longevity of these been for you? Still leaning towards the T7 ones, looks like the fronts have a running light as part of them also (3 wire) so good addition.

Your post got me looking at the Honda options, looks like the new Transalp uses something similar now too.
