Practically brand new still! If they drop considerably in price (currently $78 CDN) I'd try them, if not I'd rather use the money towards an OEM or well known brand for longevity.

Former coworker/friend of mine bought one last year as his retirement gift to himself. He's loving it so far, using it for camping trips, some trail riding. He's okay with the speed limitations regarding major travel where interstates and higher speeds are involved. I know there were some issues when he first got it, dealership actually delivered it to his house. It's a nice looking unit, sot of a metallic orange in color. There were things wrong with it almost immediately which seemed to be largely just a poor dealer prep more than anything. Parking brake was way out of whack and wouldn't hold at all. Then after messing around with it some he got it to hold but it would drag. Called the dealership about it and they told him that was why they just backed it off as they couldn't get it to work right either. Funny in retrospect but I'd have been pissed. I understand it got resolved.

The speed wouldn't be a problem for me....CRF300 and all  I just love the idea of one. I just sent an email about this one. It's at a dealer that deals with mainly American bikes. 2019 with 2300 miles. I want a 19 and above since that's when they went to all the same wheels.

This is the second Ural my friend has owned. I forget the year of his first bike but I do know he had to completely rebuild the engine and install a new crankshaft and rods. I recall the very early release bikes suffered from poor material quality and suffered from premature engine failures.

If you have some time to kill read this:

Paul (Long Haul Paul) Pelland's account of using a Ural in the Iron Butt Rally.

Brian's KLX300 had a set of Tusk aluminum panniers. He has since swapped them for some Nelson soft bags.

What a story. I was a bit disappointed to see it wasn't a sidecar bike :D I do believe that since Ural now has a corp office in the US.....quality has gone up(at least from what I've read). I can do basic mechanic stuff....but fixing something like that on the road is highly unlikely for me.
