So I bought a wedge camper. It covers the shark fin antenna and reception greatly suffers.

So I bought this antenna, planning on relocating the antenna to the top of the camper.

    https://www.amazon.com/XM-Interoper...20c-4bf3-8547-787eaaf623a5&pd_rd_i=B01H5D0I1A

Then I found this old tread on Tacomaworld:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2009-tacoma-satellite-antenna-location.11978/

Great! I need an adapter because Toyota didn't like the standard connector.

First problem, the thread is about hooking up a receiver to the connection in the kick panel. I'm going the other way, from the antenna to this connector in the kick panel. The thread suggests this adapter:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BU779KQ

So I need the opposite. But Wait! There's MORE! in the reviews 2 people claim this doesn't work with later model Tacomas. One posted in 2015 and the other specifically mentions a 2014 Taco. I have a 2015.

I need to know what adapter will work and where to get it.

    Thanks.

Thanks! Looks like that should work. Was hoping for a kick panel solution though, easier to get to than taking the dash apart. Maybe a good excuse to swap out the radio too.

tacoma radios are EXTREMELY easy to get pulled out and put back.

Do keep in mind, if you swap to an aftermarket head unit, you'll need the sxv300 module and that will include the same antenna you've already got, and no adapter will be needed

So I finally got around to pulling the radio and running the new antenna. Unfortunately that adapter won't work.

I noticed the standard connector will fit in there with a snug friction fit so I will just not use the adapter at all. I'll also put a small glob of silicone sealant as an additional hold.

While running the new cable I took off the kick panel. I couldn't find any connection there either. I guess they moved it or did away with it for the 2.5 Gen.

Did you look for the connection behind the passenger side kick panel?

Dash is still apart as I am doing a couple of things while in there. I did plug the radio back in and SiriusXM reception has greatly improved with the new antenna placement.
