You'll love this one. The other dealer I called told me when he looked up my VIN that my truck is blacklisted for any repairs related to the two complaint issues. That no dealer will work on it since the TAS guy deemed these to be characteristics of the vehicle. Then the TAS guy told me and was pissed because I went to another dealer. So obviously the service manager gave him the heads up that I was pressing for a resolution.

What a sham. I know all car companies have issues, but the tactics that Toyota is using are despicable.

That's actually insane! I had 8+ warranty work ordered opened in a row for the same issue( whole other story), got a flag from Toyota Canada against the dealer and all and still got it sorted out by another dealer all together with no issue. If it's normal then they should all be able to explain that with blacklisting you because now you probably feel more justified even if it is in fact normal. Whats your next move? Call corporate and see whats up?

Yep, I’m taken back myself. I had already talked with corporate about this and had an open complaint until I realized that at least half of their intent was to collect information to use against me if it became a legal issue.

I discontinued discussion with them when I felt that way, and specifically when they told me the regional person assigned to my TAS case is two levels above them. Also that there’s no further recourse aside from the lemon law. Of which they fully realize and is exactly why the refuse to work on it. If they don’t generate enough work orders then I don’t qualify to file a lemon law claim.

That is absolutely insane, I don't even know what to say.

At my dealer the only time people got warranty blocked was if the had a problem, directly related to a modification they did. Even then we were very lenient. like truck with a leveling kit eats a ball joint:spy: just take the picture from a "better angle". truck that clearly has a supercharger added but ate the cam and lifters in the block:spy:. Until Gm started asking for computer calibrations for major component failures, even head gaskets on Duramax's we'd put through warranty if we could despite the vehicle clearly being deleted and tuned. Under warranty I see no reason to not remedy a concern and if possible. I've had my fair share of explaining things are normal that may not seem as such. When ever I demonstrated the exact same thing on the same vehicle new AND high mileage used, produced a service bulletin explaining it's normal or explained really well why and what were happening I haven't had a sour customer. When I was not in a position to do any of those things and/or a more junior service advisor explained everything then typically we had problems. All in all though the way I see it is that if it's normal and not causing harm then there should be no need to blacklist. Any dealer you go to should be able to tell you the same thing and they should have no worry of being lemon law'd if there is no problem. Again though I was never a Toyota Technician so idk how things work exactly in that network
