The internet is a giant spotlight for the best and worst of our society. Stick around a while. Not everyone here is a curmudgeon.

The law is the law, you have an email and a deposit and that is a binding contract. You do not need an old fashioned sales contract signed with wet signatures in order for it to be legally binding. As long as money has been exchanged with a promise of goods delivery and an agreed upon price that is a contract.

Word of advice to ensure you get the truck if there is a fight...drop the whole "dealer error" shtick. That's their story, not yours. As far as you are concerned the online purchasing system functioned exactly as it was publicly advertised and intended.

*I am not a lawyer -yet. This is not legal advice, just general knowledge.

    ^^ This.

And research in advance various consumer advocate resources, like some local TV station or state agency, in case things go south on the deal. Dealers really don't enjoy cameras in their face asking questions that make them look sleazy.

OTOH, be sure you've double read all the fine print to make sure they don't have some secret escape clause regarding computer errors.

Long time toyota truck owners are mad about the new luxury import pricing on trucks built now with lesser and lesser quality

The 4G Tacoma forum seems less bitchy than here. I'm on the Ranger forums and there isn't as much abuse there but it's not a vast community like TW.

I love this sentiment, and I LOVE Baby Billy Freeman. And, yup, you've got it. I am actually a RECOVERING lawyer here. They are absolutely bound by the price, and it was honestly not some kind of tactic, they don't need to do that on the high-end trims for these. It was a legitimate mistake/glitch, and I believe they will uphold their end of the deal. If not, it will get ugly--but I doubt it comes to that.

Happy for you brother... Looks like a good deal. A friend of mine got a similar lucky situation years ago, the manager of sales tried to talk him out of it but it did not work. They had to honor the price by law. Enjoy the ride and hope to see you on the trails. It is a glorious life!!...

    I did call BS but...

I don't mean to be toxic.

I hope you did score this truck and the $4k off MSRP- Truly.

I hope you get it and the dealer doesn't screw you out of it.

I am however of the belief that posts like this aren't even from real people about factual events.

Or at least there are a couple fake posts a week, possibly by the site owners to generate activity. (and more power to them!)

You see, a fake post about Toyotas with problems under 1K miles or maybe a post about scoring a barely released truck for $4k off MSRP will have page after page of people arguing about it.

While a post with a real question or observation about these trucks gets little to no traction because a: the truck is too new to answer the questions and b: most people in this price bracket for an offroad truck usually only crawl the mall.

And there is some toxicity in here, mostly in the G4 forum where half the people in here don't even own a Tacoma or even a truck for that matter and just come here to troll because that's America's favorite internet past time.

But please, please, come back in here and prove us clowns wrong.

yes this place can be pretty toxic, and even more so that the 2nd and 3rd gen owners are jealous they have old subpar trucks :)

I think it’s more that many folks around here have seen any number of appalling and questionable tactics from dealers during transactions- sure you get the $4K off, but what’s to prevent them from loading it up with unwanted extras like $500 nitrogen filled tires, VIN etching, $2,500 ceramic coating, etc?

Get back to us after it’s all said and done with keys in hand and your final OTD price and only then can we decide to pat you on the back or slap you silly…
