What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I run my Toyo AT3 LT's at 36psi all the way around. It'll rise to 39 warmed up/road trip.

 

Installed Subrau Kicker tweeters and the sound is much better than the stock.

 

Replaced my chrome vent rings with Meso Customs vent rings.

 

GMC Canyon edition.

I stickered my Tacoma....

 

Today I added a console safe so I can securely store stuff there when I have to leave it in the pickup.





I also replaced the media control switch so it is now oriented in the correct way.





I’ve never understood why Toyota decided to try and fix something that was not broken. Changing the direction of the media controls to the opposite of what is logical. There is a reason why it’s been done a certain way for decades. I’ve recently drove a 2024 Tundra and its media controls are oriented correctly. I’m just guessing, but I’m sure the new gen of tacomas have it now oriented properly.

 

Nice, I will have to do that to mine, why would they put the volume and skip keys that way? But I have the safe and I use it a lot. But funny story, I had this truck for nearly a year now and just found the usb port in my safe. I did not know it was there because it was already added to my tuck from the dealer.

Installed the AJT Designs over sized cup holder. No more water bottles rolling around in the floor.

 

Added a bit more performance red..

 

Envious of how clean your interior is, the cup holder mod is crucial for nalgenes/hydroflasks

The ghost of basic maintenance past visited me today for my prior sins. When I did my first oil change the torque wrench I had only went down to 50 ft-lb, so the filter housing was ooga dooga'd. Luckily, I knew it was coming and had the last 5000 miles to prepare for this day. All is correctly snugged up now.

It wasn't even a frustrating experience, I think knowing it was coming was the worst part and ripping out the plastic housing built my confidence a little bit. I feel the same way with off-roading because I've never been stuck. I almost want to get stuck because I think the fear of getting stuck is worse than having to get unstuck.

Also, kudos to the folks who keep their vehicle detailed. Mine gets used to cart around kids, camping, road trips, and offroading. Got bad enough that I felt the need to do what I consider a thorough wipe down. Can confirm, I hate detailing and the carpet is still filled with brambles, thorns, prickles, and other various debris.

 

Replaced the cluster cheap plastic cover. Now never again wipe the new one. lol
Also realized at the end that my old one was all black and the replacement is dark grey.

 

Invest in one of these and you won't have to do that again.
