Bolt on hood struts

The shipping label did state this, and I believe the box only stated 05-06 Tacoma. It does open it wider than OEM, about 4" (rough estimate) wider than where the perch rod holds it open. I need to "tippy" toe (how cute) to reach the hood latch eye. The mounting hardware looks pretty universal, I wouldn't be surprised if it worked with the wide range of years it advertises.

 

hey thanks OP for keeping up with this thread. from it i've learned the extra 4" in height when opened would be a little too much with my lifted taco, even if it fit. thus, i'll pass. thanks, again..............

Reviving this....what are good bolt on solutions for the 2nd gen? I'm wanting to get some for my dad.

 

Spiker Engineering and Redline Struts both make kits for our trucks.

 

One of the first things I got after we bought our new 2005 Tacoma was a pair of Redline Elites. Super happy with them, they still work perfectly.

Not bolt-ons though, I think I drilled a couple holes for the supplied rivets. Not a big deal.

 

Well, I jacked up a drill shock kit on my 23 this week, so that's a no go for him.

 

Well, there's nothing that's going to "bolt-on" without drilling a few holes AFAIK.

 

why the aversion to drilling?
