Post pictures. Might be easier to just replace the tensioner itself.

You have several choices depending on how / where the bolt sheared off. Do you have any of the bolt sticking out of the threaded hole or did it break off below the surface? If it's below the surface, you need to - very carefully - drill a hole in the center of the broken bolt. It is generally recommended to use a left hand drill bit here because sometimes just drilling the hole will back the remaining bolt out. If it doesn't come out, then you have to insert one of the many types of screw / bolt extractors in the hole and carefully back it out.

Another tactic that works well here - if you have access to a welder - is to weld a nut to what's left of the bolt and carefully back it out.

If the bolt broke off with a few threads sticking out of the hole, sometimes you can - again very carefully - grab it with Vise Grips and back it out.

If you've never done any of this before, I would suggest professional help. Good mechanics do this all the time and make it look easy.

Honestly, those bolt extractors are spotty at best. I had some head bolts snap off in an outboard motor and even with perfect access and a perfectly straight drilled hole, they still didn’t work and just destroyed the bolt inside the head.

If you can, I’d save yourself the time and frustration and bring it to a shop that can weld a nut onto the end of the snapped bolt and get it out once and for all. That would be hard to do if there’s holes drilled in the bolt. Just my .02

also, I may be wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that the tensioner pulley bolt is reverse threaded.

It does seem like it's aluminum, so maybe It might bite with an Angle drill.

    Take a breath, calm down.
Remove the tensioner. See if the bolt hole goes thru to the backside.

Drill it from the backside. It may even unscrew with minimal effort, just be sure you are turning it the correct direction.

If that fails, replace the entire tensioner assembly.

Unbolt it and get it on the bench so you can see it better…or just replace it

It sounds like you snapped it off while tightening. If this is the case and the bolt did not bottom out, once it snapped off, it lost all the tightening tension, and an easy out should work. Just make sure you drill in the center of the bolt.

Put it up on a jack stand, remove the driver front tire, remove the tensioner assembly, figure out if you need to replace. This would be cheaper than towing to mechanic and get told you need a replacement tensioner (since labor for repair would be more than new part). YouTube might be your friend. Also find online version of repair manual. Not a hard job. Just a pain in the butt. Grab some ibuprofen.
