I'm having the same issue, except where your truck locks and unlocks twice to tell you it's not working, mine won't do anything. I even tried to reprogram my old fob that used to work.

Same here exactly. It does nothing at the end of programming when it should cycle locks on/off. I'm considering replacing the receiver control module if I can find it. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Had the same problems as both my remotes became flaky on the lock function and often did not work at all. New batteries no help. On advise of another member I bought a used OEM remote on eBay for $14 and did the reprogram and at the last step the door locks cycled twice meaning it did not take so did all again and same thing but I just said screw it and opened the door to exit programming and guess what - damn remote was actually programmed so all works correctly now. Not the receiver I also suspected. Go figure.

Thanks for your response. I found the "receiver door control" and just removed and inspected it. The thing looks brand new inside & out; no burned contacts or any visible issues. FYI after some googling, I learned that Toyota wants between $500 & 600 for a new controller! WTF?!? I couldn't find a used one on eBay or anywhere else. I have no idea how I might bench-test the controller, but I did test the door lock relay and fuse('s) and they're good. So, based on your experience I will order another used OEM remote and try the programming again. This is some crazy mysterious BS. I'll report back on how it goes. Thanks again.

How'd this install go for you? Looking to do the same along with the CC, back up camera and wipers like you.

In reference to old post #9 and #10. I was cleaning out my glove box (2010 Tacoma) and I find this little black box part #89747-AC010. Previous owner must have thrown it in there and I never noticed it. Searched the part# until I hit post #9 and #10. Looked where post #10 said to look and sure enough there was a taped off plug. It fit right onto that part and now I have a beep when I lock or unlock my doors. Have always wondered how to "program" that beep. Now I know.
