I've been reading a lot on the forum's regarding having my '21 tuned. One of the potential drawbacks, probably the only drawback I see is the possibility of not being able to get it smogged. Has anyone actually had their 'tuned' truck go through and pass smog in California?

OP- i have the KDMAXX tune and have not run into a SMOG issue here in SoCal. Not sure on other tunes, but KDMAXX was not a issue.

skidooboy...thanks for pointing that thread out....I've spent hours on it and haven't found the answer. Stated that in the original post. It's vague on the California CARB complinace as far as actual smog experience from what I've read so far. Anyway..Dorf510...thanks for taking the time to give me real world feedback regarding my specific question.

OTT (Overland Torque Tune) is emissions-certified in 49 states, the 50th state, CA "CARB" certification is pending & expected soon.

    https://overlandtailor.com/3gt-ott-custom-tuning

No other tunes are CARB-certified to my knowledge.

Honestly, @JustDSM & OTT are head-and-shoulders above the other major/popular tunes in the Tacoma space. In terms of technical knowledge, experience, and integrity.

Ahhhhh.... 'The Golden State'... Moved away 25 years ago.... Went to visit 2 years ago. (L.A.)
Was just as smoggy then as it was 25 years ago.

Dude! You are wrong. LA air is still plenty smoggy and gross, but it’s improved. Look it up. Your foggy memories aren’t AQ samples. (Though I would be suspicious of 2020-1 representing any sort of trends due to Covid impacts on driving habits.)

    Okay, back to tunes…
