I agree if you arent doing trails that you struggle with 31's theres no reason to go to 33's unless you just want to. Which is also fair.

You could toss my tires on and take it for a spin if you want. You will rub on turns due to my wheel offset.

For those that have been before: NMW- is camping there like Vermont/ADKs or is there few spots that reservation only?

My man, it's 7:45 AM but you've activated my engineer brain AND one of my biggest hills I will die on in the off roading community.

moment of inertia, in physics, quantitative measure of the rotational inertia of a body—i.e., the opposition that the body exhibits to having its speed of rotation about an axis altered by the application of a torque (turning force).

    https://www.britannica.com/science/moment-of-inertia

The formula for this moment of inertia isn't always the same. For example, a stick rotating about an axis (think windmills, or those spinning radar things you see on boats) will be different than a hoop rotating about an axis (think wheels). The formula for wheels is simple enough at I=MR^2

    upload_2024-6-17_7-50-45.png

(And this is what you're getting at, the bigger diameter has a bigger effect than the higher weight).

But, because I am me, and can't settle on being not overkill....

    upload_2024-6-17_8-11-1.png

When you compare the moment of intertia to those 60lb 33in skinny tires to stock, you are (a shade over) double the moment of intertia.

But now to show how those differences add up. If you start with stock, and add 3.5 lbs (10%) but keep the same diameter:

    upload_2024-6-17_8-18-8.png

your moment of inertia goes up 10%.

If you keep the same weight, but increase the radius by 10% (going from 30 to 33):

    upload_2024-6-17_8-19-49.png

your moment of inertia goes up 21%

The increase in the radius saps your mileage, the mass is a much smaller part of your change in mileage.

You check in at the gates with an intended campsite. There are no reservations, it's first come first serve, and the gate attendant MIGHT know that there is another group planning on that same site, or might not. Plan accordingly to have backup sites in mind if the one you intend to go to is taken.

If you want to make reservations, check out Lily Bay State Park, it’s in the north east side of Moosehead Lake. There are private camp grounds on the north west side I believe. But this is just out side of the NNW, not that one could tell.

I'd be interested to see how they hold cal over time.

I mean, in reality, as long as they're within 5%, for the majority of what they'll be used for on these mod days, they're likely plenty fine.
Not sure I'd build an engine with them though.....then again, not a fan of micrometer torque wrenches anyway. I prefer split beam, dial, and digital, depending on what I'm doing.

I'm looking at getting their 40-250 torque wrench (for doing front wheel hubs). https://www.amazon.com/TEKTON-Torqu...&pd_rd_r=d31ea090-75c2-4368-8d7c-d7e72ad3093e

I have a Matco torque wrench (10 - 150) that I use at work. It's a micrometer type. I've had it for 20+ years. Got it calibrated a couple years ago.
