    Hey Guys,

Looking for help choosing some new wheels and tires for my 2017 Offroad. The tires on here right now and in desperate need of replacing.

    Tires
So far have been leaning towards Falken Wildpeak at3's which sound like they are a great tire for the conditons I drive everyday. Roads here (British Virgin Islands) are poor at best. We recently have had tons of rain and landslides so all of the roads are now either muddy when wet or insanely dusty when dry. Sounds as though the at3's are great grip on wet road in comparisson to Ko2's. Currently have 265/75/16's and am thinking to either stay at that size or go up if it doesn't require lifting / too much trimming. Thoughts on this?

    Wheels
Have been shopping around and this is where I get a bit lost.. So far have been looking at Method 703's with a 0 offset or something along the lines of the Nomad Convoy with a -10 offset. I understand the concept of offset but am wondering which of these I'd be better off with / what grants ability to step up a size w/o lifting? Prefer the look of the slightly more aggressive offset that hangs just out of the well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Basically the more negative your offset the more you are going to rub and the more you would have to cut with these tacomas. 0 offset is a good place to start not have to do much/any trimming. You can probably go up to a 275/70/17 with the method wheels and not have to trim anything or very minor. 0 offset also has a more pushed out stance then your oem wheels if that is what you are looking for

Stay with what you have the 265/75R16 are a perfect fit for your truck - looks like you did your homework and know what tire brand is best for your environment. Unless you just want a "cooler" looking wheel you are good and, yeah, the Method 703 seem to be popular but as posted pay attention to the off set - I would stay with a positive offset wheel to eliminate the possibly of any rub problems certainly no less than 0 offset.

I went with DX4 - they have a TRD Pro look and a +10 offset so no rubbing issues to deal with.

Thanks mate - assuming you did no lift / alteration to your suspension also? I have been tempting the idea but my ghut keeps telling me to just keep it stock so I dont run into unnecesary problems - fixing trucks here is not easy as we don't have very good mechanics and no authorized dealer. Although I do like the look of a 2"....

If you stay stock 265/75r16 or 265/70r17 would be my main suggestion however many would recommend the 255/80r17 as an alternative.
If you lift I find all options look goofy and a 285 or bigger is needed for it to look proportionate.
I would look into the yoko G015 or G017 possibly the toyo trail RT (no experience, but its on my list to try) the g015 is a very mild at but excellent road manners the g017 it's very similiar to a duratrac but improves on it in nearly every manner
As for wheels stick to a 0 offset and a width suitable to your tires

Here is my truck "before" with no lift and 265/75R16 on stock wheels - I run with KO2 because I go off road and they work on the beach here in NC
    [IMG]

Here is my truck "after" with 33s - with the DX4 16X8 +10 off set wheels. Again keep in mind I take this truck off road and I was going to make sure I had to rubbing issues which is why it is lifted 2" and all the cutting. There is no need to spend the $$ for all that for what it sounds like what you need. This is only to show you the wheels. Now if you want the lift and a lot bigger tires for the look I get that too but to do that and not have issues is not cheap

upload_2024-6-23_15-37-30.jpgThey stick out about 3/4” from the fenders. It’s a 8.5” wheel so with the zero offset the stance is a little wider but not brodozer wide.

No 3rd party wheels beat the looks of TRD Pro wheels of '21 & '23 imo.

Weird, I went out of my way to get a set of those wheels. Wouldn’t run a Pro set for free.
