Well you have the purchase price of the vehicle ... then you have depreciation ... then when you trade in the dealership will give you a certain amount -value so they can make a profit. then you get the new vehicle + so much of the difference in the trade in ... then depreciation hits you .... ... not really opinion ...

You deleted your post, but I was referring to your line “your not getting anything better than what you have”

Some feel certain perks of the 4G are worth it.

No: especially not in the first year of production for this Generation if your current truck isn't having any current or expected issues. (how many miles on it?)

I might hypothetically consider one in the second or third year if I was ready. But looking at the current asking prices, it's doubtful.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Stretching your passengers face against the back window; priceless.

Any Tacoma mid-size truck at these crazy 4G starting prices should have the latest and greatest Toyota V6 as standard equipment or a no-cost option. Toyota has them
so there's no excuse: Look at Lexus.

    Standard engine 4-banger/Turbo and a "Forced-on-you" Hybrid is a non-starter for me...especially at $40,000+ price point.

I’ve had access to several 4th gen trucks now and I still have zero interest in owning one. I will be driving my 3rd gen until it falls apart.

If you doubt, you are free to look yourself.

But here's a bone....a vid of a vid when it was overheating (and the riders glossing over it - I saw the same original video, he's showing). Seen it multiple times. You are flat wrong if you doubt.

    You're welcome.

And another, shall I go on (and this is just recent. The 3rd Gen does not)?:

you post 1 video of a guy posting about another guy....geezus ...drink the kool-aid in the 50 gallon drum more....the other vid isnt working.
I dont need to look, I am NOT the one making claims. But since you suggest I do: https://forum.pickuptrucktalk.com/threads/the-truth-about-2024-tacoma-transmissions-failing.396/

In short Quote: Chicken Little disease is rampant on YouTube these days. There's officially 4 NHTSA complaints with 2 failures out of tens of thousands of 2024 Tacoma models. The supplier is most likely Aisin and they build transmissions for all the brands.

Not my words, I did go onto the NHSTA There are 5 complaints when I looked, 1 is for transmission.....The reason for the replacement of the transmission FYI, is there arent parts to fix it, so its faster to just swap a whole transmission. Ford had a similar issue with the all new Bronco with no parts ( Covid)

That last video he was clearly in 4HIGH....the comments are priceless.

I sure don't see MONTHS of failed Tacomas, I see a couple of NON owners talking about issues from other creators in order to monetize their channel...Pretty sad really.

I think I can get 300K out of my Gen 2. At the rate I drive that will be in 2053.

TFL video, the guy w/ the accent in CO... he's running the "Blueberry Taco" (The one the axle infamously broke on video) and the transmissions begins to overheat. Look, I want the 24 Taco to be good, but issues are coming to bare w/ the major redesign. This is one of them... like the Tundra, it will likely build until Toyota gets on top of it. I am NOT looking for it... It's coming across me views on YouTube (yes, "man bites dog" sells).
Just remember, you were the one being a PIA today when this starts cropping up/reported more and more. Fair enough? I'm done spoon feeding you videos. Yeah, I saw the Chicken Little one before you posted it. He maybe right, I suspect he's not (based on Tundra and Toyota is having rough time right now). I am no 4 gen hater. I'm rooting for it.
