It’s minty. I’m not a fan of anything herbal on the palate.

 

Sitting in 80 proof plus solution?

I have a hard time believing anything's going to grow in there.

 

Have you tried either the bourbon or the butter yet? Was it worth it?

Lipids don’t need bacteria to oxidize, they’ll go rancid just from room temp exposure to air alone.

 

Yea it wasn’t too bad. The mouth feel of the whiskey was different for sure. Felt smoother in my opinion, but I’m not the best at picking up flavors and notes and all that. Ate a piece of the butter and it just tasted like whiskey soaked butter. I’ll try whipping it and putting it on steak or something.

 

Butter/fat washing alcohol has been around for a long time. More commonly used in cocktails though

I have been really critical of 291 distillery in CO. So my buddy gave me a sample of their entire line to test out (he said he doesn’t like it either). Let’s see how it goes

 

I always have a bottle or 2 of old #7 in the beer fridge. I try and have a selection of Jack Daniels products for family, friends, or a Thursday afternoon.

 

I have those same glasses. Several sets actually.

 

2nd or 3rd grail I’ve picked up this year (the stagg). WLW was one of the others. Need to budget for a while now
