I got out to take this pic and left the truck running. When I went back the driver's door was locked. I kinda got worried. I tried the back door and it opened. Whew! I then took the little key out of the fob and unlocked the driver's door. What happened???

Maybe inadvertently bumped the manual lock on the door handle?

They are set to turn off after a period of time. I think the default is 30 minutes.

Doesn’t sound like it auto locked the drivers door. Might want to double check your lock settings.

Leave a window down and try it again? It should have auto unlocked, but perhaps that only works if all the doors are locked and the door gets closed

It’s a common problem when the inside door locking latch is in close proximity to the opening handle. On the way out you accidentally hit the lock with your hand as you push the door open. It’s also happens on the 3 gen Tundra.

how long were you out of the truck? if it doesn't sense a key it will auto lock after like 30seconds - 2 mins what ever you have it set too.

This. I do this all the time with my truck cause I am a spaz.

OP, as you were pushing the door open to get out, your hand was near the door handle/lock. You inadvertently pushed the lock.

I still do this, and my slow brain has to walk through the reconstruction every time.

I try to get in the habit of rolling down the window when exiting the vehicle with the keys in the ignition.

Wait push to start? Why aren't the keys on your person?

I might have done that before fobs tend to get bulky. It's much easier to leave the fob behind when there's no key.
