I would go up 89, through Cameron, and hit the canyon from there.
You will see about 5% of the traffic from that side.

Camping on the rim isnt really an option from the south side,
But if you start from the east you can find a view that you like close to a dirt road off of it and camp there
from the dirt road intersection here you should be able to find a camping spot without idiots around, while being minutes from the rim.

Unfortunately solo camping on the rim is a North rim only adventure, unless you are willing to break a few rules

Yup I came in from Cameron side FS 307 meets the main road just outside of res land but before the park entrance and takes you straight into Grandview tower. Lots of camping along the road in too.

Got myself a neat little doodad from 'straya. I call it the frame douche, it's a hose attachment that magnet clips onto the frame and fires out jets of water in a star pattern. Really damn good for getting mud out.

Any pool guys in the Glendale area? My pump died on me Saturday and I'm need of a new one and install help. I have about a 15k gallon 3-5-3 ish foot depth, no in-ground cleaning or water features. I talked to one guy who recommended the Pentair 2.2 THP variable speed, but they wanted $2400 for pump + install. I'm seeing that pump about $1500 online though, and there's no way I'm paying $1k for labor and some new PVC. Hoping to get this done today or tomorrow if I can get a pump purchased. I'm going to run down to Perry's in a bit as well and talk to them.

Should need a pump/motor combo at a 1.5hp and the PVC fittings and etc should be less than 50 bucks

Thanks. I just got back from Perry’s. I’m gonna pull the motor off and bring it in. Guy I talked to said I shouldn’t need a new wet end or anything and they got a rebuilt variable speed motor for something like $680.

Ended up being $900 as I had to buy a new seal plate and seal kit and impeller. It was the impeller that was broken/blocked. I decided to just upgrade anyways to get a better pump. That shop was excellent though. Time to go sweat up another storm hooking it back up :frusty:

If any one is in the market for a Border Collie and would like to rescue one, Arizona Border Collie Rescue has lots of pups right now. I worked with them to adopt my current pup and they were great and honest people. I will link their site below.
