I live off grid 5 Miles up a dirt road I use my truck for hauling wood to pulling trees. Clutch is shot again. Should I go with OEM? Or is there a after market that would be better for the condition I usually drive in.

Hauling wood, OK, up to a point, i.e. maybe 4K-5K pounds max including trailer -- depending on steepness of slope.

    Pulling trees?

No wonder you're burning through clutches. Get a winch, and/or a come-a-long w/ tackle blocks etc. to multiply the pull.

Right. I have block and tackle for yarding out tree's and use the wench when I can. Seems like this clutch is flawed. I've been driving for 40 years and never had this much trouble with a clutch.

Should I get OEM? Or something different?

Honestly I would go with URD or an OEM Aisin.

    Welcome to TacomaWorld

How many miles did you get from the original and the present clutch? OEM on the replaceme or aftermarket? Just curious as my son's on his 2005 went about +-180,000 on the original OEM clutch. (2.7 2WD AC 6') It outlasted both the clutch master cylinder and the slave cylinder. He also replaced the flywheel and throw-out bearing and a few other misc parts. All OEM Toyota.

    Current mileage is around 240k

How's that workin' out for ya?

No, I mean literally -- that's an interesting setup. How does it drive / feel? Is it easy/normal to daily-drive? Is the CM hydro TOB setup working well & reliably?

Good to hear that "it GRABS", but how is it for normal daily driving?

Does it also engage smoothly/easily in normal low-speed stop & go traffic around town, on the flat, when there's little or no cargo/trailer weight on the truck?

it grabs hard, if that makes sense.

It was a little jerky the first hundred miles, until i learned to be a little smother with the pedal.
or maybe it had to wear in slightly.

I have been city driving with it in shit traffic and it is not a completely different experience than the factory clutch. I imagine, that wouldn't want to put a new driver that is trying to learn stick in this truck with this clutch. but you shouldn't have that problem.
