I changed the drive belt today in my 2019. You really need a flex head ratchet and go as low as you can before moving the belt tensioner and pinning it. I took the new belt and put it on but man it was a pain to do. Any tricks? I guess i started high going over power steering and alternator pulley’s and then pulled belt between water pump and crankshaft over belt tensioner. Curious to how Toyota mechanics do it? Any way to take bends out of new belt, that would help.

Not sure how easy it is to do on 3rd gens but on 2nd gens I pull the fan & fan shroud out and then the belt drive is wide open.

OP- install/route the belt on all accessories/crank besides the PS pump. Use a breaker bar(Fixed ratchet, 12-24in length), compress tensioner(with breaker bar), and slip the belt over PS pump pulley. Super simple, diagram for routing is on the underside of the hood. Access is tight, but it’s easy once the breaker bar is on the tensioner.

I watched this video. I don’t know I think it would be easier to put the belt on the tensioner Second to last and then stretch the belt over the alternator pulley. I have yet to do mine, but this seems like it would be simpler.

And speaking of Drive belts, my dealership here in Michigan quoted me around 120 for the genuine Toyota one. That is the one that I want. Has anyone bought from any dealerships cheaper than that?
