My uncle just came by to get some parts we worked on and we got to talking. His FIL isn't doing good and he gave him a car he's had for years. A 1968 Corvair with 78,000 miles.

He also has a Mach 1 Mustang, not sure what he's going to do with that.

Be sure to take a pic of ‘em driving it & give it to him. If he cherished & enjoyed that car nothing would make ‘em feel better than to know he’s provided enjoyment for others. Biggest reward in life is often giving it away.

His FIL lives in Indiana, I'm sure his daughter will be sending him pics.

You are 100% correct, people don't remember you for what you have, they remember you for what you gave away. And it doesn't have to be possessions :fistbump:

Powedercoater just told me the IRS came by and checked his box truck for off road diesel today. I said IRS? You mean EPA? He said nope, IRS, had a badge and everything. They told him it's $1,000 per gallon if caught.

I said I'm glad I didn't drive my diesel today, I put some ATF in it the other day so it's probably red

That's pretty crazy. Didn't know they had jurisdiction to do something like that.

    I stand corrected found this.

Fuel Compliance Officers (FCOs) are employees of the Internal Revenue Service who administer the tax laws and regulations pertaining to the fuel distribution in the United States.

The Internal Revenue Code (IRC) authorizes the IRS to detain any container which contains or may contain any taxable fuel for the purpose of determining the amount or composition of the fuel. The statutory penalty for refusing to allow an inspection is $1,000.00

Well manly men, today was an excellent day to do what I like to do best - drive. :)

The B-I-L had body work done to his truck so a few weeks ago I followed him down, today was pick it up day. 365 miles in the project Subaru, didn't miss a beat. 28 mpg on the way down, 26 on the way back - I had the AC on.

This is a sweet driving car, confidently quick and now drives like it is on rails with the nice job the young fellow did on the alignment.

I told Mrs Green I might need to drive it a few more weeks to make sure everything is sorted out ;);), she said "I don't think so..."

    Test day at the track.
Gotta get the cobwebs cleaned out.
Can’t get the tires we use right now (maybe never) so after these 2 sets have there
last runs we have to go to a harder compound. Gonna suck for me as I’m going to have to
change shock and spring preload adjustments to make it work. I hate starting from scratch…

Downsized my spinning rods. Ugly sticks are just too stiff for me to throw all day now.
Need to make some more lures this winter as I added a rod to the Corolla. Taking out the fly rod
as it’s like a 9 section traveler and takes forever to set up. Don’t have that much patience for a quick 15 min throw and go.
    Coffee going down
    Sausage Muffin coming soon.

    Have a good day….
