Of course there will be issues with a new model. But just because a few people post their specific problems doesn’t mean the sky is falling and every Tacoma sold will suffer these problems. They are specific to individual vehicles. Just like the tundra, the vast majority have gone 10’s-a hundred thousand miles without issues, but the internet/youtube effect would have you believing every one has suffered an engine or turbo failure.

Some are happy being unhappy. As Roy Clark and Buck Owens used to say.........

Gloom, despair, and agony on me
    Deep, dark depression, excessive misery
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all

I doubt anyone has gone "10's hundred thousand miles without issues" in a 4th gen and most likely a 3rd gen Tundra too.

    10’s to 100k miles, not 10,000,000 miles.

I doubt any 4th gen has gone 100k miles or that many are even at the half way mark for that, "vast majority" he claims. Just saying verdict is still out to make that statement, though could prove to be a reliable platform.

It clear I was referencing the 3rd gen tundra, not the 4th gen tacoma mileage.

There is no 4th gen tundra...

    Agree with this suggestion.

I just went over 29K miles on mine in 37 months of ownership...still loving my 3Gen/TRD Sport/AT/DCSB.

That sounds like a strong deal, and especially if they give you more for your trade beyond what they quoted thus far.
But only you can decide if its the right deal for you, and if its the right truck for you (is that truck missing options that you want?). I went from a paid off '22 Frontier that worked okay but had some things I really didn't like, to my new '24 Tacoma, which I love (but cost me more $$). Only you should decide if that's worth it to you.

Some would argue they bought the truck to keep and drive forever. Ive had this truck for almost a decade already. Honestly, I have different financial obligations other than a new truck payment right now for basically the same truck.

So the dealer upped my trade in to get me to do the deal, 36.5k trade in and 38.7k on the new truck. I have few hundred dollars in rewards points on my Toyota credit card, plus I’m going to call Toyota corporate and ask for a loyalty check(they did it before for me). This looks like a really strong deal

Honestly, I don't think Id ever sell it. I would just keep it as a backup vehicle. Next time I get another ride though it will probably be a hybrid. Not for a few more years though.

    Jump ship, bud.

Your eye wanders too freely to be tied down to a…(checks notes)…brand new truck with 6k miles. Don’t get the same thing though. Get a whip that’s a bit nasty. The kind your mom crops out of the picture when it’s your birthday. One that thrills you a bit.

I just walked by this in a parking lot at North Lake Tahoe. Not something you see every day IMG_3191.jpg

Looks like the salt is already doing it's job on those steps. Bet the frame is not protected either........... but some folks don't care.
