Anything welding

The pins to hold the die are very tight. Even after polishing the bore and pin they are still extremely hard to remove.

The antikickback pin is supposed to automatically set. But it has turned on me twice first time breaking an second time bending the top frame plate.

After getting sent the wrong die. When i first ordered everything an being told to bad no refunds all sales final, And this die was for a different bender. The poor customer service on the previous two issues has really deterred me from being able to recommend them.

Welded this up yesterday.

 

chopped the back of my truck off to 4-link it. needed to reinforce the axle while at the same time putting link mounts in the right locations. tube truss is what i came up with.

 

what, no rear steer?

 

Bought a lot of parts for this build from TMR Customs. Incredible company with top notch stuff. They put rear steer on their KOH truck this year......it broke. If they can't do it, I certainly can't.

 

We've been spending more time on the dock at the lake than in the boat (boat is too small for two adults, a newborn, and a 80lb lab), and the wife wanted more shade for the newborn. So I picked up a cantilever umbrella and made an attachment plate so we didn't have to a heavy base.

want to know what y'all think of my plan to put rear mudflaps (semi truck)

1. copy ATHfab bed supports. I have a pair. It does not work due to my WarFab HC (too high)
2. use 3/16" steel flat bar of same width. Approx 2' long.
3. Line up with plastic bed "ridge" / "rib", mark, drill holes
4. bolt to "rib"
5. with flat bars sticking out (just like the ATHfab support), connect mud flaps to them. Trim as needed
6. figure out dimensions. Apparently there's 100 different guidelines that none agree with eachother
7. find a spot on WarFab bumper to hang a chain
8. get MORE steel flat bar (try to find cheap), make plates at bottom of mudflaps
9. using chain and hook, pull mud flaps from bottom steel plate so they're angled 45deg to kick rocks down, not up, like in AUS

either re-use the stock 2 rivnuts, cut them put new ones
or use rearward rib drill new holes

however, more front may look better
and allow to stick out wider at bumper, due to WarFab bumper narrowing as it goes rearward

TLR; mount rear mud flaps using steel bar bolted to plastic bed

 

I need some tie downs. This is what I came up with. I'm thinking I'll replace the washer with this. Total load would be less than 100lbs per mount. Thoughts/advice?

 

Looks nice. Those crisp corners look great but I don't think they'll help you.. I'd consider radiusing them. The hole appears small-ish.. is it made for a specific fastener? (I ask as my tie down hooks wouldn't fit in the current size from what I can tell.)

 

Diddo on what Gen3 said. I think I'd double the size of the hole. You don't need that much metal to hold 100# and you don't want to fight to get a hook through.

 

This is the move for my non water cooled torch setup. My hand was getting extra toasty on longer runs, now I barely even felt any heat at all. Kevlar gloves under the leather ones.

Still feel like you have good filler control? I've been doing some work recently that cooked my fingertips off.

I have no idea lol they were on sale so figured I'd give it a shot. Don't see too many people talking about gloves very often.

 

Yeah still had good dexterity. Both gloves are very soft and pliable.

 

No I mean, I've heard of that a lot as in...it's been common around people I've worked with

When I was TIG welding at my last job, most of the guys did away with the pinky/bottom of the palm wrap in lieu of gloves underneath so it's what I did

Only to hear it from a few other people elsewhere

In other words, it works!

 

Yeah it definitely works. I just work alone in my garage so I had no one to show me lol I just gave it a shot and it worked. Cool to hear others are doing it too.
