That looks like a Lostar skid that was sprayed with bed liner.

I used Line X on mine and did a better job than that Etay seller.

Gotta say it's pretty durable stuff tho.

OP over paid, mine was $199 and the cost of 2 cans of bedliner

My bad, thought this was a place for dudes to talk about trucks, not the third grade.

You guys did a nice job on those! Probably just going to get a refund and go this route.

How you use the truck determines the strength of the plate you need. Aluminum is good for weight and light protection.

Steel is heavier, but stronger if you bump hard stuff.

Personally I'd prep it well and use a bedliner to finish it with. Easy to refresh if you wish sometime. Most is tougher than paint, several are tougher than the average powder coat job.

Look at www.monstaliner.com for some interesting materials. Some folk around here have done whole trucks with it. Not affiliated, yada yada.

    Update
Response from seller - Apologetic, says that it is powder coated, and he will gladly replace it. I think I'm just going to put in for a refund instead and get the OEM skid plate, as I still don't love the quality of this compared to the cost. I can have the shop that is 2 minutes down the road powder coat it while they're doing my calipers and drums.

    Appreciate everyone's responses on this!

    Powder coated rotors?

Even powder coated calipers are a big deal. It would seem they need to be broken down to remove bits that wouldn't like the heat, then essentially rebuilt.

High temp paint would work fine and be a lot less expensive. Once they get brake dust covered they all look the same. :D

haha, sorry, I'm a doofus, I meant the drums. I wanted to do the drums because they're spotted with rust. Talked to the shop and they said it wouldn't be a big deal to send the calipers off with the drums so figured might as well do em both. To your point, no one sees or notices stuff like this, I'm just meticulous to a fault and would feel better if were matte black and didn't have to worry about them ever again.

Bruh. A thick steel black skid is like $200.

Just be advised that the TRD Pro skid is the same material and thickness....hopefully the powder coat looks better from the factory tho
