Is it cool to run a 34 tire on the spare wheel. Or just buy a matching spare? It’s not looking like it is okay imo. Just want to make sure

    34" tire I'm assuming?

What's the recommended rim width on the tire you want to purchase? As long as that fits the stock spare (7" wide) you're fine. If you're beyond that, you'll need to change your spare wheel. For example, BFG specs a 7.5"-9" wheel for a 285/75-16. I'm sure that there are members on here running a 285 spare on a stock steel wheel without drama, but you're outside the range. If you wanted to, you could go with a 285/70-17 on an FJ Cruisier steel wheel (17 x 7.5) without drama.

I’m not worried about the size. It’s just the pos spare wheel

    What about it?

"Not looking like it's okay". There's all of zero useful information in that comment. What's your concern?

Gotta take the width of the tire and the width and the offset of the spare into consideration. Too wide of a tire might not be right for the width of the rim. Too much positive offset of the rim combined with the width of the tire then it might not clear the UCA.

I had to run my spare for a couple days. Spooned a lightly used KO2 on to the steelie. That was not fun with my lightweight motorcycle tire changer. It was interesting as it was somehow balance perfectly. Minor miracle there. But, the difference in offset had it pulling away from that side under braking. Nothing horrible though.

The Sport had a 17” spare. That’s the spare wheel Toyota uses.

My 2020 OR came with a steelie spare like that. I think it’s likely ok to fit a slightly wrong sized tire on it for emergency purposes. I ended up buying 5 identical wheels and tires and doing a 5 wheel rotation, but in retrospect it probably wasn’t worth the investment.

Not sure why a 2.7l spare would be different than a 3.5l, but I do have the V6.

All 3rd Gens have the same stock ride height and tire diameter.

TBQH, I’m not exactly sure if mine looks like yours or tonered’s, but both look like black steelies.

That can't be your factory 3G spare, right? The 2G came with Rugged Trails and if I'm reading that right, it's a 2012 date code. I'm assuming this is an example of what your wheel looks like?
