I suppose it doesn’t help that both plugs are 14mm.

I fixed that problem, I have a stainless magnetic 15mm drain plug in my oil pan

And both drain plugs on the transmission pan are now 5 mm allen key stainless since I know which is which is overflow and which is drain..

For those that would like a visual clue on which is which.

Get a Permanent Red and Green Paint Marker Pens and mark the Transmission with RED Paint and mark the Engine Oil Pan with Green Green Paint.

Not foolproof. Person could be color blind..

Step 1 remove engine from vehicle leaving transmission in place.
Step 2 with engine out of vehicle change oil
    Step 3 reinstall engine..

Well as the saying goes. When they make something foolproof, a better fool always comes along.
