Yesterday picked up my new ALCOM Ez Hauler aluminum trailer. It’s a 7.5x16 1900lb has 6” of extra height, so UTVs can be loaded, a 12” tongue extension, and totally finished out inside walls and ceiling. It was in the upper 90s when we left Phoenix for the 190 mile drive to Lake Havasu City. When we got to Lake Havasu it was 109 degrees. We got 23.5 mpg the trip over.

here are some pics of the truck and trailer.

Left Lake Havasu and it was 113 degrees out and arrived back to Phoenix where it was 108 outside. Trailer pulled great the entire trip back home. I ordered clip on mirror extensions but they didn’t arrive in time for the trip. I could see the tires so I knew where I was in the lane but visibility behind me was next to none. Truck got 9.7 mpg on this return leg. When racing starts back up this fall we will see how it does with 2100 lbs of car and gear loaded into.

now all the upgrade projects begin and it sure makes my truck look small!

I'll take 8.4 mpg at moderate speeds and good weather.

Headwind or crosswind, trying to run limit or smidge over, 5.5

Nice trailer, but a lot of load / wind drag for a mid size truck.

I did just that. In 55 mph zones I did 60 and in 65 mph zones I did 65. Agree wind is having a huge impact on mpg.

will know this fall when racing starts again. Until then work on projects I have lined out.

I have that brand also, but mine's a 8'x20' from 2016 that we used to use for ATV racing when my kids were active in that, and I had a full size truck. I've pulled it locally okay with my '24 Tacoma, but haven't had it out on the interstate yet with the Taco and may look to sell it and downsize for safety (but it is the best pulling trailer I've ever owned). Also wishing for something better than clip on mirrors.

It pulled great on the trip home, good to hear yours has served you well. Have several projects outlined for it before racing begins.

    1) paint the floor with non-slip grey porch paint
    2) make an install a starter flap for the end of the ramp
    3) install a Midwest racing in floor winch kit and deep cycle battery
    4) get a Tuson electric sway control system installed
    5) then lots of figuring out where things will go and how to secure it. I see a lot of E Track in my future

Well, Taco has been replaced. After two Tacomas and over 13 years of owning them moving on. Truck isn’t going to keep up with this new trailer. Due to its height.

upgraded to a 2024 Ram 1500 Limited. Got $5k less than I paid for my 2021 Tacoma when I bought it new!
