Gonna be changing out the spark plugs of my 2012 Tacoma 2.7, while I’m doing my oil change and replacing my brake pads. Don’t exactly remember what spark plugs were installed before, (it’s been a while) I heard to go with iridium plugs but what brand will be best??.

Agree. Go with OEM. The 2.7 only needs them every 100k I believe. Just get the OE denso’s and call it a day

NGK or Denso. NGK says antiseize is not needed on their plugs but I had a seized NGK plug I struggled with on a Corolla once. So, I now put that shit on everything. Do remember to reduce the torque by about 15%.

I’ll remember about the antisieze, I heard Denso is a good choice. The others say oem but like I mentioned, I don’t know what spark plugs are in this truck. I got it used. Do you happen to know how much torque I should put when putting in the spark plugs?

OEM plugs are Denso’s. For the torque spec I think there’s a sticky in the 4cyl forum on replacing the spark plugs that should have the torque. If not, search the forum. It’s definitely on here somewhere

It is 13 ft-lbs. 11 with antiseize. Toyota/Lexus uses both NGK and Densos as oem plugs across their models. My V6 had both! 3 Densos on one bank, NGK on the other.

    These are what I used

Denso 3509 FK20HR-A8 Iridium Long Life Spark Plug
    SKU: FK20HR-A8

got them from sparkplugs.com as that was one of the listed online retailers on denso's website. Trying to avoid any fakes
