    these "pins" above my bed rail system, what are they intended for?
    Truck history, purchased used from Toyota dealer in '21 with 45 miles on it (returned by original purchaser) so I have no build sheet. I never gave them any attention until they got in my way when installing a tonneau cover.. You can't hurt my feelings if this is a dumb question, I have plenty!!!!

    My understanding - the stock tri-fold tonneau cover should/would have been a port-installed option. Odd that it disappeared after only 45 miles.

    But yes, that is what the pins are for.

    Thanks folks. I figured it was a factory box that had been checked, but odd that the cover was missing. I believe there’s a back story on the original purchaser. 21 was a tough time to buy a vehicle of any sort. If it wasn’t bad enough, the truck was immediately damaged by hurricane Ida.

    Used oem covers show up on FB marketplace and CL all the time and it sounds like you are all set up for one. It's a really well built and tough cover.
