Now see that's where I would get ticked off. If there's room in front of their own house, they should park in front of their own house :annoyed:

Exactly! Especially when the streets in our neighborhood are so narrow. Everyone else either pulls into their driveway or atleast up onto their curb/sidewalk so as not to obstruct traffic. If you want to park like an @$$ do it infront of your place not mine

    Good morning guys.

After a quick check in of a few early this morning I’ve been running around like crazy since it’s just me and the pup today. He’s been really good but we’re trying to get our morning routines worked out.

Shane, you may want to consider doing a perimeter treatment around the shop and house for that matter. That will keep the termites at bay much longer than just a surface treatment and will stop the little buggers from finding a crack in the concrete and tunneling their way up unseen until there is serious damage.

I even had to have treatment under the slab and perimeter on my metal shop as part of the permitting process down here because they can be so bad.

A lot of the pro's use Tengard SFR 36.8 % Permethrin Insecticide / Termiticide. Amazon doesn't carry it anymore, but you can find on the interweb. The bottle comes with instructions for all types of pests. You dilute it and spray it to get rid of them, to protect a building from getting termites, you use a probe and inject it 18" underground. It is deadly to cats in the liquid form, so you need to your shop cat secured somewhere else until it's dried.

Spray what you can, I know when we bought our house they went around the perimeter and buried some kind of plastic traps or bait stations or something around the house. They were about every 6ft or so. Green plastic spikes about 6in diameter with holes inbthem

My parents just had that done, after having to rebuild half their house due to termite infestation. :annoyed:

    Can't like that

They seemed to work ok. Most have been dug out since then. All this talk has me thinking maybe I should spray or something again

My Florida room add on in the back had some termite damage a few years back after I pressure washed the deck that borders the room. Pest guy told me there are two types of termites, ones that invade underground and ones that come in above ground. So maybe both the spikes and spray couldn't hurt.

Ok shop crew just caught up on 3 more pages and I left here about 3 hours ago.
Soooo the latest is on Friday a week ago wife said the tankless water heater is making a weird noise:annoyed:. Well today was service the propane appliances day. Ronnie showed up about 09:30 and I showed him the water heater and turned it on, he said that sounds like you got an insect on the burner but it doesn't sound like anything is bad. Started tearing it open and gets to the burners, he says oh that'll do it IMG_20240701_095210079_HDR.jpg.
Vacuum's it up cleans burners up. Then I check on him did you find anything else? Oh yeah take a look at this IMG_20240701_120822.jpg . Wood boring bee's, they were looking for water:tumbleweed:. Came in from the intake and got fried:hungry: and tumbled around the fan:yes:.
PSA is always once a year check your tankless water heater and have it cleaned.:rofl:We're on a service contract for the tankless water heater, propane gas logs, and stove top. He cleans everything and tunes it up and checks for leaks in tanks and regulators takes him about 3 hours for it all.
Next step is go to shop and find metal screen and install to keep these critters out.

Screen shots from a video my wife sent me. Guess who’s power is out.

From the time he got into position over that tree to when he was done was less than a minute. They’ve got such a huge mess laying around the county it’s unreal.

Yeah but to gang that big and many blades and then dangle them from a helicopter? Glorious.

And get it on video cause your husband is at work, fantastic!

I'm not one of those complaining about the power being out or the mess they are making, it's just maintenance and stuff happens.

It is amazing they are trimming trees with a helicopter.

I sure hope they do the line coming up our driveway cause it needs it and it'll be less work on me if they do :fingerscrossed:
