Been sitting for a month , completely dead. Jumped it and now it won't move. Lights on dash stuck in P. Parking brake light stuck on, does not change when I press parking brake or disengage it.

Checked all of these and none are blown.

Two things that are a bit odd. The parking break light is lit up no matter if I engage it or not. Also when I shift gears the light on the dash stays in P

So the shifter physically moves but doesn't shift the truck? If so that sounds like your shift cable came unhooked.

Have you checked your brake fluid? That could turn the red brake light on if it's low.

Yes that's correct. It moves but lights dont change on the dash and the truck doesn't move.

Sounds like a shift cable problem as stated above.

A couple of things cause the Brake light to illuminate:
    1. Low brake fluid or a defective / broken level switch.
    2. Parking brake engaged or defective / broken brake lever switch.

Crawl under the truck and follow the shift cable to the shift linkage on the transmission.

You’re probably going to be low on brake fluid that’s the first think I’ll check

There is a plastic shift link bushing in the center console. This holds the cable to the shifter. Mine disintegrated one day and I couldn't get the truck out of park. I fabricated a rubber bushing that worked for a few years before buying one of the $25 nylon bushings sold on Amazon. I keep my home-made rubber bushing as a backup.

I can't say this is your problem, but it wouldn't hurt to remove the shift console and look. On mine the shift cable was detached, and pieces of the disintegrated bushing was evident.

i took this a part looking for the shift cable and it was unhooked. I hooked it back in and it still doesn't shift if you try to shift to hard it forces the shift cable to pop off again.

Seeing as how the shifter moves when it is disconnected it appears that the Park Neutral Safety Switch assembly is corroded in place and not allowing the shifter shaft to move.
