I have my 16 yo Shorthair on it. Its called Librela. Shot is $75 a month. Best I can tell it is handling the pain, but her hind quarters are still weak. I guess it's handling half the problem. She is notably more active.

Got our pup back into a doggy daycare with a local woman who came recommended by a coworker. Our GSP has never had problems with other dogs but doesn’t get much exposure to them on our own property and we wanted to make sure she was still getting time with other dogs. She had a great first day according to the worker! Found the other GSP right away haha.

    Question for you guys.
I never had two dogs before and now with my new dog after a 7 year absence (tough dog loss) I was always thinking I would get two.
But now Im Sitting here with the golden who is only 9-10 months but she seems so perfect as the dog I wanted. Shes very smart but she's very calm and quiet. I honestly have maybe heard her bark 15-20 times and she will go a month without barking. She sleeps perfect in a kennel without complaints and is beyond friendly with everyone and every dog.
I'm now wondering do I want to chance another dog and having them do all the opposite and be a PITA. Did anyone ever have that happen before? I want to know if the second dog often takes on a similar personality as the other dog?

    Jordan,

We had the same questions after getting our first beagle. As he was growing up and right before he turned a year, he started being a slight bit of a pain in the arse, always wanting our attention. We then got our 2nd, after having to convince my partner. I can honestly tell you that we have not regret it. Dogs are usually pack animals, and do better in groups than when alone. They play with each other, they feed off of each others vibes, and they get along super well. You won't regret it. The down side is double the costs, but for us, it's a small price to pay.

    Cheers,

    Sean

Thanks for the advice. I don't care in the slightest about cost myself. The only things I'm trying to manage the best is the 5-10 weekend trips we take a year for hockey games or short vacations. Trying to find the best spot to drop her as the few we tried I wasn't too happy (but picky). Also stuff like mountain biking has been dead for me since the dog. But I'm sure when older it will turn around again and she will be able to be home herself more. Two dogs would definitely be better. I'm now wondering if I should get another female or male. The make goldens are much bigger which I'm not as interested. But I'm sure I'll love any

That's how it was with my shep. Got the boxer 2 months later. They do much better when they are together especially when they are alone.

I always bring in a new dog in when the older one is 5-7 years. Training is a lot easier and keeps the older dog more active. For the last 3 decades it's been Labs, helps to keep fresh blood in the field. Little dogs are different because they seem to live longer.

Went to In-n-Out this evening. The kid at the window could not stop staring at Kimo before he said “I have a chocolate lab too!”. These experiences are the best. Kimo totally made his day. And he Kimo’s-French Fries! Ha ha ha!
