I recently bought a 2004 tundra. The previous owner told me it has 0 compression in cylinder 5, which I confirmed, and misfires in some others, which I think is probably also the case. I only get 1 engine code for magnetic clutch circuit.

I pulled the valve cover off, pulled the plugs out, and ran a borescope down to confirm the intake valve closest to the radiator is the one that’s stuck. As luck would have it, the glass on the borescope lens broke while inside cylinder 5, leaving some glass behind.

I pulled off the intake, hoping to maybe clean the valve stem from above, but the valve seal? is partially broken, so it looks like I probably have to pull the head off. I have the almost 5k page service manual for ‘05-06 tundra. Am I going to need to know something different or does anyone have a 2004 pdf they’d share?

im new to Toyotas and the whole timing belt/ohc thing. As this looks to basically be a head gasket job, I’m hung up on what to do with the pulleys before removing the timing belt so I can take the head off and have it worked on.
Does anyone have some practical tips or better way of explaining this process?

As a note: I’ve read the relevant section of the manual like 5 or more times, and watched a really awesome TRQ video on timing belt and water pump replacement atleast 5 times and I’m still unsure. I may know already, but I’m not confident
