We're getting ready to buy and I'll likely be getting a temporary soft topper and possibly a Harker, GFC or similar after the truck is used to help me raze a property. Long bed TRD OR is a must but I'm thinking the digital mirror in premium package could be a liability.

Can any of you speak to how the digital mirror works with a topper and what will be a work pickup more than a pavement pansy?

All that really interests me in premium package is that Soft-Tex might clean up better but even then all the holes seem like a liability. My wife hated the seats in SR5 we tested, and while she liked premium package seats, she loathed all the cameras on the screen.

    Thanks for any input here.

Anything that blocks the 3rd brake light will block the digital rearview mirror cam. If you got a hard top then you could do the relocation kit and keep it.

The rearview mirror is the least important piece of equipment on a pickup truck, and always has been. A digital is a nice-to-have, but not necessary for me.

That said, I love the back up camera. It makes trailer hitching a one-person, one-attempt job. If you have to get out, check the hitch, get in, and adjust while still using the camera, you should feel mildly ashamed for the rest of the day

You'll need the relocation kit from GG.OFFROAD. The camera has to be mounted inside the topper. Dunno if it'll work with a soft topper.

It won't affect the 360º camera view.

The digital mirror is fucking dog shit. It's low resolution looking during the day, and shows blooms and halo's around headlights at night.

Mine is great. Can read license plates and make out people's faces. That being said, you can turn it off and just use the regular mirror if you didn't want to relocate the camera.
