Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
Checked out another new lake yesterday. A shit trail for a couple miles, barely truck width and 4LO 1st gear in spots. The other 20 miles in was typical washboard FSR. One spot I step out, and a thousand bloody small black flies on me. Love that DEET.

Nice little lake, a couple jumpers but no bites. Did not fish too long, my lower back tweaking too much. Will fish there again when I have my boat with me.

Used my Fishcat4 belly boat because 4 of the bolts in my Thule rear roof rack sheared right in half. They are 1.5 inch long bolts, 3/8 diameter. Cut right in half. Due to so many trips on washboard roads with my boat on the roof, and the racks take a beating.

So I bought some new bolts online, but no go. Soaked the broken seized bolts in penetrant for 48 hours, then drilled them out to insert a bolt/screw extractor. None of them would budge, just seized in the tops of the uprights. A local shop is going to see of they can get me just the 2 uprights as the saddles and cross beam are still fine.

It wasn't really offroading...I was on the road at all times. There's this area near me called the Killsnake Wildlife Refuge, the Killsnake River runs through it. We've been getting a LOT of rain here lately (over 7" in the last week).

This pic was just about out, I had gone over a mile and a half of this. There were about a dozen Egrets standing on the 'road' that kept jumping and flying a couple hundred feet and landing again, only to do the same when I got close again. One time, I could've sworn a fish jumped when the birds took off. When I got there, sure as hell, there were 2 good sized bass swimming next to my door! Should've thrown a line out the window.

The water was anywhere from 6" to about a foot deep. That far in feels kinda weird.

A foot of water isn't to be taken lightly in long stretches like that. Steady slow speed, you probably have a bow wave at that and things can go sideways in a hurry if you hit deeper or softer sections. As long as there is a firm base you should be good though. If you haven't done the diff relocate mod, you may want to check your rear diff.

Oh, I am careful in there. I've been through there when the water was maybe 15" deep during spring thaw. The current can become spooky. And yes, you have to be careful with your bow wave and speed. Being all gravel, the current can easily wash it out.

Today, the sun was in just the right place that I could see the bottom almost the whole way. I tried to get a picture of my forward facing camera's display, but it didn't turn out and driving was just a little more important.

When I got about halfway through, I was thinking: damn, this could get expensive getting out of here if I'm not careful.

Explored a hydro line and managed to find a cool campsite and quiet lake worth visiting again.

Rim Road, along the edge of the Mogollon Rim in AZ, above Payson/Pine/Strawberry. Two views of the drop-off at the edge. The one with more brown rock exposed shows tall trees at the top of the ridge for "perspective". And a bumblebee visiting flowers!

Probably caught it during an earlier hike, starting from the parking-lot/trailhead below the rim (near Washington Park). But was not looking specifically for the tunnel this time. I went earlier this year when all of the playgrounds were still closed so had to return eventually.

yes, it was fun. Had to take a short cut to get to the tower due to a jeep rolling over.
