The 1.7% is not a unreasonable safety factor if the condition it applies to is all engine torque routed to one wheel, by having the MTS ABS system locking up the three other wheels. Without the MTS system, it would be impossible for all torque to be applied to one wheel. As such, the issue is that there was a hole in the MTS code, that allowed this to happen under a perfect storm of events.

I actually feel sorry that Sheldon had to deal with the TFL dorks. All the content TFL squeezed out of this was gross and pathetic. I used to watch there vids, but there handling of this situation has left them dead to me. YouTube is such a wasteland of ick, and TFL have managed to claw their way to to the top of the pile of shit. F' em!

And the really gross part is these content providers see what drives views for the other providers (Toyota sucks) and they amplify exponentially. All that is driven to your Youtube recommendations and those that are inclined to that viewpoint click on it even more. A really gross circle jerk of uselessness.

Automotive journalists have always been questionable, just as they were in the old print media. I once hangout with staff from a now defunct off-road magazine, and a writer noted to me that what they covered depended upon their advertisers, which is nothing new. They’d hype crap if the advertiser paid enough. On YouTube, that’s probably who gives them vehicles to make content with, press event trips, etc.

When Toyota had the last press event for the Tacoma, the attendees were the who’s who of YouTube.

Toyota would be better off making their own marketing videos.
