2023 TRD OR in Lunar Rock
Hey everyone! A year ago, my 2nd-gen Taco was totaled and I bought a 2023 Tundra. My build date is one month newer than the end of the current engine failure recall, which is nice but has set me down a spiritual journey to work out what to do.

My wife and I are looking at bailing out of the Tundra while we can get maximum money for it. The trade-in on 2022s is noticeably less than the 2023s, but I don't think that will hold out. I'm in great shape on what I owe right now, but if the trade-in dropped to what 22s seem to get, I'd be in ... not as good shape.

All of that to say, I think we've realized a Tacoma works better for us, so I'm looking at 2021+ 3rd gens (want that CarPlay). I would love to hear thoughts on what to look for. I want 4WD, and have been searching for TRD OR or TRD Pro, but a nice SR5 would work, too.

Advise away, and thanks in advance!

If you can afford a Pro, then grab one. Otherwise the OR is just a tick or two behind it.

Seems like the OR is the way to go (as it is on other models.) Anything drastically different after the 2020/2021 models?

No big changes after 2020, you can also just have carplay installed on any 16-19 model.

I get it though, I have a second car now without it and I hate it, I need google maps now, I can never go back.

The SR5: Everything you need, nothing you don't.
And if you do need something it can be added probably cheaper with aftermarket parts.

Bonus: you actually get a 'KEY' with the SR5.

I recommend the OR if you plan on building it how you want it!

It is fun to get a base as well then mod from there.

Looking like I'm to pick up a '23 TRD Off-Road with about 16k miles, in Lunar Rock.
