SOLD 2003 Tacoma 4x4 TRD Dbl cab. Needs trans $6000 SOLD

My Tacoma needs a transmission, and I’ve got too much going on to deal with it right now. I listed it over a year ago when it needed an engine, but I got no serious interest, and eventually I fixed it, drove it for another 10k, and now the overdrive is out. It still drives, and can be test driven, I drove it home over 30 miles with no overdrive, just kept it under 45mph so as not to overheat the new engine.

This really has been a great truck, and I don’t need to sell, but it’s been sitting over a month, and will sit until after summer when I finally get some time to mess with it. I have a newer truck and a work truck, so I’m not really hurting without it. It was purchased to be built into a trail rig, but I bought a better, dedicated off roader, so this was used as a commuter for over six years seeing very minimal off road use.

Im not desperate to sell, not even sure I want to, so I’m not interested in offers. If I don’t get what I feel it’s worth with a new engine, I’ll just let it sit til I’m ready.

The frame! It was in Tx years before I bought it, super excellent condition, hardly any surface rust, check the pics!

Super low miles on rebuilt engine, 10k with already three oil changes on it. (After all that work, I want to baby this engine) it runs great!!!!

It doesn’t leak! It leaked like a sieve from when I bought it in 2017 until the new motor.

All new timing kit with new engine.

6 new Aisin injectors.

Brand new Toyota throttle body.

New Toyota steering rack a couple years ago.

Radiator (Denso) is about 5 years old.

Needs transmission work

Will need tires soon. They are worn unevenly due to bad LCA bushings. I installed new (raceline?) bushings and corrected the problem, but not before it got my tires.

Passenger door handle is broken, I already have a new one, just need to install it.

Paint is faded on roof and hood, and some fading on the doors.

It was a farm truck when I bought it, and it has been used for work. The body has a lot of light scratches and the inside of the bed is pretty scratched up. No major dents to mention. Interior is decent.

Damn skippy!! I’ve considered it, but I’m not even sure I’d prefer it..

Also, I found a rebuilt A340F at Jeg’s for just over $2500 shipped, if anyone is curious. Someone better snatch this thing up before I order a trans!

this is such a good deal. Someone needs to get this as a father son/daughter project. New trans, a little PDR body work and Calvary blue raptor liner later. I remember this being posted for sale when it needed the engine. I wanted it then, and still want it now. Unfortunately, not in the position to store another vehicle

Not yet. I’ve just been cruising it around the neighborhood, and down to the lake. I’m convinced if I give it enough time the right buyer will come along. I’m just in no hurry, when I do fix it, it’ll still sit around.
