    Thought it was th ed Tundra that had water cooled turbos not the Tacoma?

    I was thinking the intercooler being air to air. I think most turbos have coolant running thru them.

    I’ve owned a lot of post-2000’s turbos from a variety of manufactures and generally wouldn’t worry about cool-down idling unless I was racing it. Automakers sorted out heat soak a while back, and it also helps that Toyota was absolutely obsessive with cooling & oiling on its 2.4T.

    Ironically, despite the frequent chatter about cooldown, of particular importance on a modern turbo is being careful not to rev your motor too much before it’s properly warmed up.
