2017 Blue Tacoma TRD Off Road
Levelled, CMC, Body Armor 4x4 Pro Series winch bumper with 30" lightbar (no winch). Running 285/70 R17 Falken Wildpeaks on Icon beadlock rims. Bilstein front springs and some sort of Icon suspension system. Not sure exactly what's under there, but she sure rides nice!
    Hello everyone!
My '98 finally rotted out from under me. First was the frame around 5 years ago which I had repaired  (I should've walked away, I know- don't judge), then the floor under the driver's side got mushy last winter. 400,000 km on that engine (rebuilt once) still running like new though! I wasn't about to fall through my floor this coming winter, and I found this nice levelled 2017 with 114,000 km on it and Icon suspension at my local dealership I couldn't pass up.

I don't know how it managed to pass their safety inspection with 285/70 R17s on it, with pretty much zero clearance of the front fender, and rubbing the driver's side factory mud flap, but I was assured that "I'd be surprised" how everything clears with cycling the suspension. I could only manage to get some free low-profile mud flaps out of them that won't rub. Better than nothing.

With that zero tolerance clearance of the front fender, I'm not about to go off road and knock my alignment out which I'm sure would result in crunching that fender, so she's getting a bumper/fender chop and steel front bumper next week. Who am I kidding? I'd be doing that anyway. Cargo rack is next.

Well that's my story. If any of you are planning to visit Vancouver Island for summer camping, just forget about it, okay? There's no room for you here. Provincial campgrounds are always booked, and forestry sites are closing because off all the losers treating these places like garbage dumps. Any thing you've heard about our fantastic whale watching/ wildlife tours is a lie. All the wildlife went extinct 20 years ago. The videos you see are all CGI. Go see the Canadians Rockies instead- you can't afford BC Ferries ticket prices anyway. Oh, and in winter all our roads are salty and wet. Not very Tacoma friendly at all (refer to my story above). Also, outside of Vancouver, we have the most expensive gas prices on the continent! Stay away!

    Vancouver Island sucks! :canada:

Welcome! Sorry about your old truck and congrats on the new one. I gotta say though with all those warnings, I am even more interested in checking out Vancouver Island just to see what kind of cool stuff you're trying to keep for yourself :)
