Howzit Gang. Newbie to this whole lifting thing... Just moved to Oahu about a year ago and wanted to know where would you go to buy parts and lift your truck? I have a Stock 2014 4WD Tacoma and just wanted to see what would be the perfect type of Lift? Whether to go with Leveling Kit or Lift Kit? I don't want it so that it's crazy HIGH, I just want it so that I can go to Kaena Point and head into some parking structures with no problems. Any help would be G... initially thinking on going with 3"F/2"R leveling kit... but idk if that's too little?

At the end of the day it really just boils down to what you plan to do with your truck. I wouldn't recommend it, but if you're gonna drive mostly on the road and stick to casual offroading or none at all you could go the blocks route. Again I wouldn't, but its definitely cheap if you just want the look. By reading your post though it sounds like you would benefit from a cheaper entry option suspension lift. I'd recommend either a set of bilstein 5100s or eibach stage 1 or 2s. Relatively cheap especially the bilsteins for what you get out of them. These will be a slight upgrade over stock offroad, improve road feel, and give you the look you're going for. Im not sure about the 2nd gen in your case but I would also stick with 2" of front lift maybe 2.5" max because once you start going higher you start stressing components of the front suspension more without further mods. The 2nd gen I know is an inch lower than the third gens so 3" may be fine since its basically the same suspension but thats up to you to look into. Especially if you want to get into parking structures in town still something to consider. As for the rear lift if you're gonna carry weight or tow just change out the whole leaf pack because the factory leaf packs honestly just suck. If not maybe an AAL is best for you. Hope this helps but truly just doing your own research based off your needs will set you up nice. Recently got a 3rd gen and searched around for info on this forum and elsewhere before I installed my suspension and couldn't be happier with how it came out.
