Hello all, I have a 2022 Tacoma SR5 trail edition. Vehicle has 7k miles. Still entirely factory vehicle. I have noticed for about 1.5 months now when I am under load a little aggressively I get a strong vibration through the 3-4k rpm window. It seems to only happen under certain conditions. Engine has to be warm, and most frequently happens when already traveling at a lower speed and then push the pedal more aggressively. Has happened on the highway once or two though. Can’t replicate it all the time but has happened on and off for almost 2 months now.

I have brought it back to my dealer. The technician told me he was able to replicate it but he wasn’t pulling codes so it must be normal and nothing is wrong ….

    Try some testing:
    1. When it starts vibrating shift to neutral and let engine rpm go down- do you still have vibration? If so it is not the engine, but could be one or more of wheels, tires, transmission, differential, front axel, transfer, CV joints, drive shaft ect...
    2. If vibration dissapears, probably engine. If transient, take to dealer and have a record issue in writing, if they cannot find, keep driving until it gets worse and can be located.

Just because there are no codes doesn't mean it's normal and nothing wrong. Sounds like the tech has no idea you need another opinion. Maybe have the service manager drive it.

First thing I would look at is leaf spring u-bolt torque; 52 ft-lbs.
If no codes, sounds mechanical... Sounds like exasperated axle wrap due to loose u-bolts, causing bad driveshaft angles.
At 7K, it's good and broken in; might have lost some u-bolt torque.
    Just my first initial WAG.

Just checking back in for everyone. So I road tested the vehicle with one of the master techs. Recreated the issue a few times for him to be able to open a ticket with Toyota engineers. They had him measure driveshaft angles. U joints. Checked for bindings in differentials. Bled transmission fluids to check fluid levels while hot. Sent data from a few drives while he replicated the issue. They had master tech drive a brand new Trail Edition they had on lot and it was doing the same thing. I am being told Toyota engineers say all the information and data they sent over to them was in spec and that it must be a normal trait for that trim Tacoma.

I'm not surprised, I've had four Toyota trucks since 1994 and everyone of them had/has driveline vibration of some sort. It's a Toyota thing. My 2019 is almost vibration free except for slowing in the 30-15 mph it shudders in the back and I just live with it.
Looks like you just got swept under the rug by Toyota, they won't do anything more if it can be reproduced in other similar vehicles.
Do you think you can live with it the way it is?

Still have the same issue with the truck all this time later and now 17,5k on the truck. Has anyone come across any more concrete information or similar experience with solution.
