finally got new rims

just a render of how my truck would look, i just ordered roxtrix rims because there is a sale 17x9 with -12 offset
currently i have 245/75/16s anyone know the biggest tire i can get for now i’m STOCK suspension, future i want to get upper control arms and a lift.

also can someone explain how rear lifts work? do you need a leaf spring or something or is it a block?

right now i’m looking at basic lifts like eibach stage 1, what’s the best bang for your buck?

and i hear that spc control arms are the best as you can adjust caster??

 

Bronze will look great on that black! As for rear lift, avoid blocks and go with a new leaf pack.

 

thank you bro i’m so excited i just need to figure out what size tires now, and a new leaf pack as in add a leaf? or a whole new leaf pack? i’d only really want 2.5 inch lift or 3 inch nothing more crazy

 

You could probably just do an add-a-leaf for some slight lift to fit bigger rubber. A new leaf pack would probably require new, longer rear shocks as opposed to leaving the stock ones in but I'll let the experts chime in!

 

...or buy once, cry once and in go in on a mid-travel suspension kit. You'll get a better ride and won't have to do it over again down the road. You could time the purchase around any upcoming holidays and pick up something on sale.

 

a 31.x-32" will fit with no lift. something like 265/75R16 equivalent in a 17" wheel.

But I'm not sure with that wide of a wheel and offset. If you go by the specs, I don't think you can find a suitable tire that the manufacturer says can be mounted on a 9" wide rim and still fit on the truck unless you get some Hawaii type tire setup - super wide and low profile.

 

What does "mid-travel" even mean these days? Front shocks/coils don't change the limitations of movement built into the stock Tacoma suspension for up and down travel.

i believe 265/75/16 is the biggest without a lift. Go with a full leaf pack... blocks cause axle wrap and a rough ride. AAl's will sag with weight.. been there, done that.. Check out the rxt leaf pack... has 3 height settings to choose from depending on your lift height and the load you carry. I'd wait on the tires/wheels until after the lift to see what size you could handle. Personally, i wouldn't go over 2-2.5" of lift.

 

helllll no i do not want my truck looking like that i want a beefy tire, i was going to ask yeah what does the 17x9 mean 9 as in width of the rim? is it hard to find tires for that??

Yeah that one’s got me Scratchin’ my head some too. Maybe it’s kinda like the “Just the tip thing”. Could be a question for the Ladies.
