Saved some peaches from the deer and the birds.
Would have been 4x as much, but we really did not have time. Busy time of the year at the day jobs, and busy with other canning.
These will get jarred in simple low sugar syrup. We still have peach jam left from before.

 

Turned 13 pounds of tomatoes (12 lbs, after cores were cut) into 12.5 pints of salsa.
This is how we use the food proccessor I had posted above:

First picking of the new elderberries. Not a lot but its the first year

 

Picked corn this eve. Got 11.5 dozen after tossing a bunch that wasn’t filled out or was wormy. Didn’t even make 50% this time. Not complaining, giving more than half of everything away this year so folks enjoying it.

 

Grew corn once. Enjoyed by the racoons. Market stand now for purchase...they grow acres, some for people, some for wildlife. I don't have enough space.

GA raccoons and possums love cat food and marshmallows, groundhogs LOVE cantalope.

Tried to spray? Pyrethrin based spray?

 

I havent. Tomatos are coming ripe. I didnt want to risk chemicals on them.its just weird we looked yesterday and only saw 2 now today 2 more

 

Pyrethrin is derived from chrysanthemum flowers and can be used up to day of harvest. I hit my tomatoes and peppers with it last night (June bugs appeared again, and they will destroy tomatoes and potatoes), and picked tomatoes today, will can them Friday.

 

I took video a couple years ago of 3 horned worms rapid destruction of our potted tomato plants. They devoured each of them with 48 hours. Monsters, lol.

 

Evening y'all.
Hot and humid here in grow zone 10 South Florida. Pineapple, some Mango, and our Pink Guava have been popping. Too much to eat and/or trade/give away. So, been cutting them up into bite size, then placing them on a tray and putting into freezer just long enough to freeze the juice in em ( 3 hours). Then i take em out and vacuum seal them into bags good for the mrs and i. Then they go into our chest freezer, stored. When the fruit season is over, we dont have to go spend money at store for fruit. Blessed for sure.

Multi variety, beauties! I'll have to catch up on your posts of your canning process, we havent done much of that yet.

Agreed, we do the same.

We had it with a couple different varieties of tomato here. Just kept pruning em, wound up with CharlieBrown christmas tree plant with some ornaments. Rotated crops in those beds, didn't suffer blight on those crops or any others we planted in that bed with the same soil. We have these micro tomato plants that seem to be blight and worm resistant, i think its a product of University of Florida AG. But any other variety of Tomato usually suffers the blight eventually here, even if it's fresh/new soil, potted or raised bed.

I see some leaf miner on the mellon? leaf, those mess with our citrus plant leaves badly.
