IMG_1281.jpg IMG_8220.jpg Currently drive a 2017 Tacoma 2.7L Manual transmission 4x4 with 68k miles. Looking at buying a used 30k mile tundra 4x4. Anyone go from a 4 cylinder Tacoma to an 8 cylinder tundra and regret it? If so, why? Do you miss your Tacoma? Is the tundra too big? I’m a single guy, no kids, just a dog and a house. Pic of each vehicle for reference. I know prices of vehicles are high right now, but with money down payment would be the same. Just getting into a longer term. Any insight would be appreciated.

The only complaint I hear about Tundras is they love their fuel.

The minute I no longer needed the size and capabilities of my 2nd Gen Tundra, I sold it and got into a 1st Gen Taco.

Tundra are thirsty. And a pain to park.

I suppose it would help if you shared your thinking for why you're considering trading.

If a genie appeared and said I could have either of those two trucks, I'd pick yours over the Tundra.

There's a reason old 4 banger, 4x4 MT tacos are desired. If you trade, those reasons will be made clear.

Unless you absolutely need the extra payload or towing capacity, keep the Taco.

"Too big" is relative. Dragging a big boat around needs size. But my Tacoma fits inside my garage by only 1.5 ft. Even parking a Tacoma (coming from a Corolla in my case) is a learning process.

You need to drive the Tundra for a few hours I think, to learn how repeated parking in both large-space lots and tight-spaced lots goes. Learn how the simple action of maneuvering changes.

Why do you want to want to get rid of your Taco with only 68000 miles? Why do you want a Tundra? Unless you need a Tundra for some particular reason such as towing, stick with your Taco.
I’ve owned both. Love them both. The only negative is the Tundra gets lousy gas mileage.

I found that it's only really big if you go into cities often or if you go to trails that are pretty tight.

I've driven numerous newer 1/2 ton trucks in various cities. You can definitely be able to park them, but it can be tight at some parking lots, and be good on reverse parking.

If you don't need the extra hauling/towing compacity of the Tundra, then the easy choice is keep the Tacoma.

There would have to be a damn compelling reason for me to finance anything this year, and NOT because "I wanna new thing."

When I went shopping last month, the best rate available for a used purchase was 8% and change.

Hey unrelated questions but do you have a lift and are you still running 265/70/16 tires on the Pro wheels?
