I need to see what my pto bank looks like but I might see if I can get a vacation day. I’m gonna leave my dog on this one.

Let me know about the ride in, I should be good for going in with whoever goes up Friday. I haven’t been before.

You'll only be on the logging/dirt roads for like, 5 miles, just past Kokadjo alone.
Otherwise if we go into the woods proper it would be as groups.
We're going up to Old Orchard Friday (Well, I'll be up on like, Tuesday.... :D) and then going up from there on Saturday I think.

My dog is TBD. I think she'll be there, but TBD.

Way different vibe than so cal but equally as excited.

Should be a good trip. We'll start getting some group chats and planning going. WAAAAY less planning than last year.

Those going to the woods at all - paying in cash is great and if you pay in ones at the gate they'll love you forever.

I'll need to head up to get a patch.

Yeah tiff and I will be going into the woods for a while, maybe coming back maybe not. Not planning yet as it probably depends on how the weather is.

Damn, I just made the journey up there last weekend from southeast corner of New England for my once annual trip, so maybe I’ll join you next year!

if you’re looking for ideas, I would recommend the old logging trails between East Moxie Township and Greenville. I lived in the woods in West Forks off Lower Enchanted Rd in 2009 as a whitewater raft guide and took that route to visit the Penobscot River and Mount Katahdin. The route runs parallel to the 100 Mile Wilderness at the end of the Appalachian Trail and is similarly rugged and remote

I’ve driven from Greenville to Moxie falls via dirt a few times, once long time ago, I tried to use a trail and ended up turning around as the Sienna and Forrester were not the right vehicles. If you have any more info about where to find the trail or what not, I’d love it if you shared and I’ll explore more at some point up there.

I had a 2005 Tundra at the time and I made it through but can confirm it was a rough, slow and bumpy drive. I’m not 100% on the details as I used a GPS back then. Having been up there last weekend though, it appears some of the roads are a lot better than they were back then and may not be currently in use for logging. At the time, there were still lots of Caterpillars doing work there.

If you're on facebook, the Northeast Carry General Store, just bought by a couple I think this time last year. They've been doing a LOT of work out there, and I know they sponsored/coordinated in some fashion bringing in a grater to some of the roads between them and the golden road/maybe further beyond.

Regardless, if you are on facebook, I would check them out - they're doing a lot of good stuff out there. Depending who you ask, I'm sure some people would rather they not try to increase people flowing through
