I have seen a bunch of great holders here. The ones that clip onto the lip above the radio look easy and stable but thinking I would like the phone to lay crossways above and slightly ahead of the rail. Anyone have or make something like that? Might try to model in fusion360 and 3d print something. Thinking it would be good for torque pro or fusion for transmission temps and such like. Would need a power cable for extended use but that doesn't seem like any issue.

Have Android. That mount is nothing like I was thinking of - more of a holder the phone lays in above the dash.

    Google “ram mount tacoma”
I believe that’s what you’re looking for. It’s a brand of mount, with lots of aftermarket support

    This is the way.

I have the Hondo vent / ram mount in my third gen works perfect. Ram mounts are very modular and used in applications from marine to aviation. Check them out I am sure you will find something that works best for your setup.
