Removing Rear Window Trim/Seal Grunge......?

I've searched and found some ideas about the removal of the rear window trim/seal grunge. My plan is to use a magic eraser with Simple Green after taping off the window & paint. I tried the Magic Eraser on some spots on the trim and it looked promising. Following the clean and dry, use Aero Cosmetics Aircraft Grade Rubber Care.

Has anyone tried something similar to this and if so, were you satisfied?

 

I gave it a try and it worked pretty well. I'm sure if I had taken a bit more time the results would have been a little better. Although it's far from perfect, it's 1000x's better than it was and the grunge is gone. The photos really don't how much it improved and I really should have taken a "before" photo.
