    1999 Prerunner, extra cab, roll up windows.
    I want to replace the outside mirrors for something bigger.
    Have those tiny silly looking mirrors.
    Any idea what years 4runner mirrors might fit????

    96-02 4Runner fit if you grind off an alignment tab on the back side. 99-02 were heated.

    01-04 power mirrors also fit, which look the same as 4Runner mirrors

    Go with 01-04 Tacoma mirrors, I have the 4runner mirrors and like @nzbrock said you have to grind off the alignment tab which isn't bad, but just one more thing to do imo.

    4Runners seem to be more common at junkyards than Tacoma's. If you do end up swapping them in, you might find that they mount to the car with a nut instead of a bolt like the Tacoma. In that case, they're double sided bolts and can be removed with a socket wrench. Don't remember the size, but it's small. I think I paid $30 for the pair at LKQ and they were color matched . The mounting tab can be removed with a Dremel

    Those are the style I have and I hate them. One side went limp due to tension only being held by a cheap rubber gasket and I haven't been able to see out of it in like 2 years

    I want to go 4Runner mirrors but dread the additional wiring and tbh I'm not a huge fan of the "aerodynamic as a brick" design, but that's really the best way to go for a factory fit
