I have a 3 inch lift on my truck and I am curious what upper control arms I should get. I want something that is reliable and easy to maintain while also having good performance. I’d rather not break my wallet but I definitely need something besides the stock ones. I’m trying to stay away from JBA just cause it’s chevy but is there input for anything else like icon, spc, TC, camburg? Or wether to go uniball or stay with ball join. I’m new here so sorry if this is a redundant question

    Welcome to Tacoma World.

Suggest to stay away from SPC. Lots of people like them and when they work they work, but lots of people have had premature failures (including me) and it's not worth the trouble.

JBA are good, get over your reservations about it being "Chevy" parts and be more concerned about things that just work.

Camburg is good too, lots of people have put many miles on those, they hold up incredibly well. I'd take them over Icon.

Total Chaos has uniballs which are strong but not for everyone. They require frequent maintenance. Not ideal for salty road areas.

Nothing I'm saying here is new, all of the info can be found by reading the suspension subform: https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/suspension.18/

SPC are more adjustable but less durable for hard off roading. TC Uniball take more maintenance but are good to go.

I got a good deal on Dirt kings and I’m happy with them.

The JBA ball joint is not a Chevy ball joint. It can be replaced with one. The ball joint it comes with is awesome. Mine have 100k on them and zero play. And it’s super easy to rebuild.
